The information revolution is blasting through our world. There’s no escaping its effects. Intense drops in the cost of gaining, processing, and transmitting information are changing the way we do business. â€Å"To get ahead in today’s business world, a company must utilize the right resources. One of the most effective, of course, is information technology (IT), which has become an essential tool for businesses across many industries† (2013). Information technology is more than computers alone. Today, information technology must be conceived of largely to include the information that companies produce and use as well as a large range of increasingly related technologies that process the information.
